New Living Translation Help
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.H835H376H1980H6098H7563H5975H1870H2400H3427H4186H3887 2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.H2656H8451H3068H8451H1897H3119H3915 3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.H6086H8362H6388H4325H5414H6529H6256H5929H5034H6213H6743 4But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.H7563H4671H7307H5086 5They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.H7563H6965H4941H2400H5712H6662 6For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.H3068H3045H1870H6662H1870H7563H6

Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans?H1471H7283H3816H1897H7385 2The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against his anointed one.H4428H776H3320H7336H3245H3162H3068H4899 3"Let us break their chains," they cry, "and free ourselves from slavery to God."H5423H4147H5423H7993H5688 4But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.H3427H8064H7832H136H3932 5Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.H1696H639H926H2740 6For the Lord declares, "I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalemc, on my holy mountain."H5258H4428H6944H2022H6726 7The king proclaims the LORD's decree: "The LORD said to me, 'You are my sonc. Today I have become your Father.H5608H2706H3068H559H1121H3117H3205 8Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.H7592H5414H1471H5159H657H776H272 9You will breakc them with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots.'"H7489H7626H1270H5310H3335H3627 10Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth!H7919H4428H3256H8199H776 11Serve the LORD with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling.H5647H3068H3374H1523H7461 12Submit to God's royal sonc, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities—for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!H5401H1248H599H6H1870H639H1197H4592H835H2620

[A psalm of David, regarding the time David fled from his son Absalom.] O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.H4210H1732H1272H6440H53H1121H3068H7231H6862H7227H6965 2So many are saying, "God will never rescue him!" InterludecH7227H559H5315H3444H430H5542 3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.H3068H4043H3519H7311H7218 4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. InterludeH7121H3068H6963H6030H6944H2022H5542 5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.H7901H3462H6974H3068H5564 6I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.H3372H7233H5971H7896H5439 7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!H6965H3068H3467H430H5221H341H3895H7665H8127H7563 8Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people. InterludeH3444H3068H1293H5971H5542

[For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.] Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.H5329H5058H4210H1732H6030H7121H430H6664H7337H6862H2603H8085H8605 2How long will you people ruin my reputation? How long will you make groundless accusations? How long will you continue your lies? InterludeH1121H376H5704H3519H3639H157H7385H1245H3577H5542 3You can be sure of this. The LORD set apart the godly for himself. The LORD will answer when I call to him.H3045H3068H6395H2623H3068H8085H7121 4Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. InterludeH7264H2398H559H3824H4904H1826H5542 5Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the LORD.H2076H2077H6664H982H3068 6Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let your face smile on us, LORD.H7227H559H7200H2896H3068H5375H216H6440 7You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.H5414H8057H3820H6256H1715H8492H7231 8In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.H3162H7901H7965H3462H3068H910H3427H983

[For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by the flute.] O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.H5329H5155H4210H1732H238H561H3068H995H1901 2Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.H7181H6963H7773H4428H430H6419 3Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.H6963H8085H1242H3068H1242H6186H6822 4O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.H410H2655H7562H7451H1481 5Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence, for you hate all who do evil.H1984H3320H5869H8130H6466H205 6You will destroy those who tell lies. The LORD detests murderers and deceivers.H6H1696H3577H3068H8581H1818H4820H376 7Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at your Temple with deepest awe.H935H1004H7230H2617H3374H7812H6944H1964 8Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.H5148H3068H6666H8324H1870H3474H6440 9My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flatteryc.H3559H6310H7130H1942H1627H6605H6913H2505H3956 10O God, declare them guilty. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.H816H430H5307H4156H5080H7230H6588H4784 11But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever.
